Connecting Belco

Last updated: June 19, 2026

Prerequisites

  • A Belco account with admin access

  • A team created in Belco (e.g., "Engaige") for routing conversations to the AI agent

  • A default assignment rule in Belco that auto-assigns incoming conversations to that Engaige team

Step 1: Connect Belco in Engaige

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations in the Engaige dashboard

  2. Click Belco > enter your Personal Access Token (found in Belco at Profile > Personal access token)

  3. Click Enable

The integration will verify your token, resolve your user ID and sync your Belco teams automatically.

Step 2: Configure the Webhook in Belco

After enabling, the modal in the Engaige dashboard will reopen, showing your Webhook URL with setup instructions:

  1. Copy the webhook URL

  2. In Belco, go to Settings > Developers > Webhooks.

    1. If you have multiple brands in your Belco, make sure to select the correct brand OR repeat this action for all the brands you want to have your AI Agent active in.

  3. Create a new webhook and paste the URL

    1. Webhook URL must include the query parameter: The URL from the modal already includes ?integration_id=..., make sure to copy the full URL

  4. Enable conversation.created and conversation.replied events

  5. Save the webhook

Step 3: Complete the Connection

  1. Back in Engaige dashboard, open the Belco integration (click Settings on the card)

  2. Click the Connected dropdown > Setup & Sync

  3. Wait for the success toast: this discovers the webhook secret and marks the integration as active

Step 4: Link an AI Agent

  1. Go to your AI Agent's settings in the Engaige dashboard. Select the type of agent you want to activate (Agent Assist/Autonomous on Email or Chat)

  2. Under Support Queue, select the Belco team you want the agent to be active in (e.g., "Engaige")

  3. Configure handover behavior as needed (e.g., "Assign to queue")

Step 5: Configure Routing in Belco

Make sure incoming conversations are auto-assigned to the team linked to your agent:

  1. In Belco, go to Settings > Automation and workflow > Assignment rules

  2. Edit the default assignment rule or the assignment rule you want or add a new rule

  3. Select the Engaige team (not an individual agent)

  4. Save

Testing

Send an email to your Belco support address (e.g., support@yourshop.belcomail.io). The conversation should:

  1. Arrive in Belco and auto-assign to the Engaige team

  2. Trigger a webhook to Engaige

  3. The AI agent processes and replies

  4. The reply appears in Belco's inbox and is sent to the customer

Chat works the same way through the Belco widget, no extra configuration needed.

Important Notes

  • Degraded status: If the integration shows as degraded, the webhook hasn't been discovered yet. Configure it in Belco and run Setup & Sync
