Bridge the gap between your AI and Recharge to give subscribers a direct line to skip, pause, or modify their orders, resolving management inquiries instantly without human intervention.
Setup
Step 1
In order to connect to Recharge to Engaige, you need to Create an API Key. API keys allow your Agents to programmatically read and manipulate subscription data from your Recharge instance. API keys can be generated in the Recharge admin interface. For more details, see the Recharge API Introduction.
Follow these steps to create a new API key:
Login to the Recharge merchant Portal.
Navigate to Tools & apps and click API tokens.
On the following page, click Create an API Token to generate a new token for your store.

Use the Details fields to set a name and contact email for the token.
Assigning a descriptive name to your API key inside Recharge (in this case
Engaige) facilitates easier identification of the API key associated with each use case.Select Read and Write access.
Click Save to create your token.
Step 2
Once the credentials collected, you have now all information needed to enable the integration inside Engaige:
log in to your Engaige dashboard
Navigate to the Settings section on the left side panel.
From there, click on the Integrations section.
Click on the Recharge integration Enabled button. If the Recharge integration is not visible, use the search bar at the top right of the page to locate the integration.
Enter your credentials from the very first step in the form:

You are now all done ✅ : your Recharge account is now linked to Engaige. If the setup is correct, you will see a green indicator on the integration, confirming that the Recharge integration is now synced with Engaige and that the related actions are unlocked for the agent.

Actions
Enabling the Recharge integration allows you to unlock new actions for your agent. In the Actions view, use the search bar at the top right and search for Recharge to display all related actions.
Get Customer Subscriptions
Functionality: This action empowers the agent to retrieve comprehensive subscription details and payment/order history from Recharge for a given customer. It queries Recharge's Customers, Subscriptions, Addresses, Charges, and Orders endpoints to list all subscription records associated with the customer, along with their latest charges and shipment details.
Security & Verification: Both the customer email and postal code are mandatory and serve as verification identifiers. The email is used to locate the customer in Recharge, while the postal code must match one of the customer's active addresses on file—ensuring the agent targets the correct customer account and preventing unauthorized access to subscription data. If no customer is found for the provided email, if multiple customers match, or if the postal code doesn't match any active address, the action will fail with an error and no subscription data will be shared.
Data Visibility: Upon successful retrieval, the agent can access Recharge subscription details for the given customer, such as:
Subscriptions: The list of subscription records associated with the customer, including subscription status, products, frequency, and other relevant subscription metadata.
Active Addresses: The customer's active shipping addresses on file, including address details, city, province, country, and postal code.
Latest Charges: The 3 most recent charges for the customer, including charge status, scheduled date, amounts (subtotal, tax, discounts, total), currency, and line item details (products, quantities, prices).
Orders/Shipments: For each charge, the associated order records showing fulfillment details, order status, processed date, and shipping information.
If the action is used by an agent during a conversation, it will appear as an interactive tool call. Clicking on the details will display the subscription, charges, and order information that is visible to the AI for the given customer.
